Gold Lion in Print for Lyric Opera at Cannes 2018.

Mark Sumers was our illustrator and his brief was to match the playful tone that was set by the copy, but keep the images as true to classic iconic engravings as possible which add gravitas. Mark worked using traditional scratchboard, using an X-Acto knife to engrave white lines into the black surface. Each drawing in the series took approximately 20 hours to produce. Please note – There has been no use of computer or digitaprograms.
